Nguyen-Kim launched the YouTube channel “The Secret Life Of Scientists” in 2015 and later started another channel called maiLab (originally named schönschlau) in 2016, funded by German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF. As of September 2020, maiLab has over 1 million subscribers.
Her videos on the COVID-19 pandemic garnered significant attention, reaching several million viewers and making it into German YouTube trends.
