Jack Harlow, a Louisville native, transitioned from Shelbyville to Louisville during his childhood. At the age of 12, he began rapping and, alongside his friend Copelan Garvey, recorded rhymes and songs using a Guitar Hero microphone and a laptop. Their collaboration resulted in a CD titled “Rippin’ and Rappin’,” which they sold at Highland Middle School.

During his seventh-grade year, Harlow acquired a professional microphone and released his first mixtape, “Extra Credit,” under the moniker Mr. Harlow. He formed the Moose Gang collective with friends, working on unreleased mixtapes like “Moose Gang” and “Music for the Deaf.”Attending Atherton High School, Harlow played varsity soccer and frequently performed at venues like Mercury Ballroom, Headliners, and the Haymarket Whiskey Bar. In November 2015, he released his first commercial record, “The Handsome Harlow.”

After graduating in June 2016, Harlow released the mixtape “18,” the inaugural album on his label Private Garden. Over the following year, he performed at events like South by Southwest, Bonnaroo Music Festival, and the Forecastle Festival.

In August 2018, Harlow signed with DJ Drama and Don Cannon’s Generation Now record label. His major label debut mixtape, “Loose,” was released on August 17. Subsequently, he embarked on a North American tour in support of the album.
