Corey Perry and his brother Adam embarked on their skating journey at the young age of two. Growing up, Perry honed his hockey skills with the Peterborough Minor Petes AAA organization in the OMHA’s Eastern AAA league. In 2001, he led the Petes to victory in the inaugural OHL Cup Bantam AAA championship, scoring an impressive 73 goals in 67 games.

Drafted fifth overall by the London Knights in the 2001 OHL Priority Draft, Perry made an immediate impact, recording 59 points in 60 games during his rookie season. His outstanding performance in the NHL draft year led to his selection as the 28th overall pick by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

In the 2003–04 season, Perry’s prolific scoring continued as he notched 40 goals and 73 assists for 113 points in just 66 games. His contributions played a pivotal role in the Knights’ success, securing the J. Ross Robertson Cup as OHL champions and ultimately clinching the Memorial Cup.

Perry’s NHL debut with the Ducks came in the 2005–06 season, where he scored his first career goal against the Edmonton Oilers.
