Joining the All Iowa Attack AAU basketball program in sixth grade, she remained with the team until high school graduation. Coached by Dickson Jensen, her teammates included future WNBA player Ashley Joens. Inspired by Maya Moore of the Minnesota Lynx, she traveled with her father to watch WNBA games. Admiring All Iowa Attack alumnus Harrison Barnes, she became a fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels after his enrollment. During her tenure at Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, she played varsity basketball under Coach Kristin Meyer. Notably, in February 2019, during her junior year, she scored 60 points in a game against Mason City High School.
