Less than 24 hours after striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić in the face, resulting in a Flagrant 2 foul and ejection, NBA forward Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors has been indefinitely suspended by the league. Operations chief Joe Dumars announced the penalty, emphasizing that this marks Green’s second suspension in the current season. The suspension is effective immediately.
“He will be required to meet certain league and team conditions before he returns to play,” the league said.
The NBA noted that “this outcome takes into account Green’s repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts.”
In the early stages of the third quarter, Green and Nurkić were engaged in a positional battle when they became entangled. While the Golden State forward seemed to slightly lose his balance, he unexpectedly turned around and struck Nurkić in the face.
