In 1991, Wanessa started a band with three friends: Kiko, Leandro, and Bruno, who would later form the group KLB. Wanessa was the lead singer while the boys played instruments. Initially called The Fenders, a nod to the guitar brand, they later changed their name to Neon and began performing at clubs and parties, covering songs by artists like Xuxa and Leandro & Leonardo.
At the age of ten, in 1993, Wanessa began studying theater, ballet, tap dance, and eventually picked up street dance. As an adolescent, she took up gymnastics and artistic gymnastics to improve her physical fitness for dancing. Her first theater role came in 1995 in the musical Cats. In 1996, she joined the dance troupe of the duo Zezé Di Camargo and Luciano.In 2000, Wanessa Camargo signed with BMG and released her debut self-titled studio album, selling 150,000 copies and featuring singles like “O Amor não Deixa” and “Eu Posso Te Sentir”.
