Kerdiles hails from Lewisville, Texas, and was born to a French father and a French-Canadian mother. French was his initial language, and he has two older sisters, both born in France. Shortly after his birth, his family relocated to France before eventually settling in Irvine, California, when he was six years old.

During his youth, Kerdiles participated in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Los Angeles. He continued his hockey journey at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he played two seasons of NCAA Division I hockey for the Wisconsin Badgers. In his freshman year, he played a pivotal role in the Badgers’ victory in the WCHA playoffs, earning them the Broadmoor Trophy. His exceptional performance led to him being named the most valuable player of the 2013 WCHA Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament.

On April 5, 2014, Kerdiles decided to forgo his remaining two seasons of NCAA eligibility and signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. He made his professional debut with the Ducks’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, during the 2014 Calder Cup playoffs.

Kerdiles made his NHL debut for the Ducks on February 22, 2017, against the Boston Bruins, becoming the first player from Orange County to play for the Anaheim Ducks. The team extended his contract on June 17, 2017, with a one-year, two-way deal valued at $650,000.

Approaching restricted free agency, Kerdiles was traded by the Ducks to the Winnipeg Jets on June 30, 2018, in exchange for Chase De Leo. He subsequently signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Jets on August 21, 2018.

Former professional hockey player Nic Kerdiles tragically lost his life in a motorcycle crash in Nashville at the age of 29. Just hours before the devastating incident, Savannah Chrisley, his former fiancée, expressed her hope for his response to her text message in an Instagram Stories video where the two were seen kissing.

In another post, Savannah shared a poignant engagement photo from their 2019 beach shoot in Santa Monica, California, and conveyed her heartfelt sentiments. She mentioned her longing for a sign of Nic’s well-being, reminiscing about their last “I love you” messages and their shared favorite foods.

Savannah continued with a touching tribute, expressing her belief in a reunion in the afterlife and envisioning them riding bikes along heavenly beaches.

According to Nashville police, Nic was riding his Indian Motorcycle in a residential area when he ran a stop sign and collided with a BMW SUV. He was transported to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators noted that neither driver showed signs of impairment, and no charges were expected to be filed against the BMW driver.

Shortly before the accident, Nic had posted a photo of himself riding his Indian Motorcycle on his Instagram Stories, captioned “Night rider.”

Nic and Savannah, the daughter of Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley, were engaged from 2018 to 2020, and Nic had made appearances on the family’s reality show, “Chrisley Knows Best.”
