Her presence extended to Mastermind in 2006, where she selected the American television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer as her specialized subject. She was featured in both series of Are You an Egghead? in 2008 and 2009. Notably, she achieved success on Only Connect as a member of the victorious team, The Gamblers, in the third series of the show in 2010.
Beyond her winning streak, Ryan has showcased her versatility, making appearances on shows like Fifteen to One and Weakest Link, and serving as a QI Elf. Her journey as a question writer for game shows paved the way for her role as a chaser on The Chase, starting in 2015. Anne Hegerty recommended her for the position, given their shared quiz team experience where Ryan served as captain. On The Chase, she earned the moniker “The Vixen,” a title coined by Bradley Walsh, alluding to her distinctive red hair, freckles, and ponytail. She’s also affectionately known as “The Bolton Brainiac.”
In 2017, Ryan, alongside other chasers, triumphed in Let’s Sing and Dance for Comic Relief with a Wizard of Oz medley. In 2018, she co-launched the podcast Fingers On Buzzers with comedian Lucy Porter, delving into the world of quiz and game shows. Her varied talents extended to Celebrity MasterChef in July 2019 and The X Factor: Celebrity in October 2019, where she initially faced elimination but was later reinstated due to viewer outcry. Eventually, she reached the final and secured a commendable third place.
Beyond her quiz show prowess, Ryan showcases her musical abilities by playing the ukulele.
