Since fifth grade, Isaiah Stewart II dedicated himself to basketball, attracted by his size and athleticism. He began organized play at 10 years old in Rochester, reaching 6 feet tall by age 12. Initially at McQuaid Jesuit High School, he transferred to La Lumiere School in Indiana for his junior and senior years. Despite a tailbone injury in his sophomore year, Stewart returned strong, later earning recognition as a Naismith Prep Player of the Year and Mr. Basketball USA awardee.
