Chance Comanche and Girlfriend Arrested in Connection with Kidnapping and Murder
Chance Comanche, a former NBA G League player with the Stockton Kings, and his girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, are facing arrest and charges related to the kidnapping and murder of a missing woman, Marayna Rodgers. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrests, revealing that Comanche, 27, and Harnden, 19, were initially charged with kidnapping. However, the charges were elevated to include murder after Rodgers’ remains were discovered in a desert near Las Vegas.
The Kings, affiliated with the Sacramento Kings, released Comanche from the team following the announcement of the charges. Rodgers was reported missing on December 7, and suspicions arose when she was last seen with friends, including Harnden and Comanche. Early in the investigation, foul play was suspected, leading to the arrest of Harnden and Comanche for their involvement in the kidnapping and disappearance of Rodgers.
Following the arrests, investigators uncovered information that led to the discovery of Rodgers’ remains in a desert area near Henderson, approximately 20 miles southeast of Las Vegas. Detectives concluded that Harnden and Comanche were responsible for Rodgers’ murder.
Harnden faces charges of murder, theft, and kidnapping, while Comanche, currently in custody in Sacramento, is awaiting extradition to Nevada. Although no murder charge has been filed against Comanche yet, police have indicated that charges for both suspects will be amended to include open murder in coordination with the Clark County District Attorney’s office.
