His parents, José-Luis Narváez and Marlyn Canto-Narváez, had professional backgrounds with his father working as a dentist, while his mother was both a homemaker and a singer. He spent his time riding horses at his grandfather’s ranch in Acuña, where his father was a charro. At the age of 7, encouraged by his mother, Canto began his stage career as a singer.
Canto married the American sculptor and painter Stephanie Lindquist in 2012. They tied the knot in June 2017 and resided in the Hollywood Hills.
They share two children. Their first child was born in 2020, and their second child born in 2022.
