Regrettably, Rooney’s tenure at Birmingham City came to an end on January 2, 2024, as he was relieved of his duties after managing to secure only two victories in 15 matches. At the time of his departure, Birmingham City found themselves in the 20th position in the league.
“Football is a results business and I recognise they’ve not been at the level I wanted them to be,” Rooney said.
